The Malcesine cable car and Mount Baldo are not only renowned for the amazing views and the uncontaminated nature but also and mainly for the countless activities you may practice rendering Mount Baldo a unique area for lovers of sports and outdoor activities.

WINTERSPORTS:

As already mentioned there are two lifts on both sides of Mount Baldo: from Malcesine the cable car rises; in direction Avio and the motorway Brennero-Modena the chairlift Prà Alpesina. In between ten kilometres of pistes where you can practice all winter sports, from skiing to snowboarding, from snowshoeing along the Mount Baldo trails to mountaineering. This is a discipline which allows to climb canyons and less frequented areas and then to descend solitary slopes.

For winter sports newcomers who want to start with skiing in complete security and guided by experienced and qualified teachers there is a ski school with a well prepared piste.

TREKKING & NORDIC WALKING:

It’s mainly in summer that Mount Baldo and the cable car offer their best with a large amount of trails at different levels for those who want to dare trekking along the Baldo mountain crests or simply walk into meadows or undergrowth along panorama trails.

Furthermore Nordic Walking, a sport mainly practised in Northern Europe and invented as summer training for cross-country skiing finds its ideal destination at Mount Baldo. It is suitable for all ages, it helps toning the whole body and you have enough time to enjoy the landscape.

MOUNTAIN BIKE:

Mount Baldo is also a mountain bike paradise. This is not a slogan, but represents an appreciable reality for everybody: from experienced bikers, always searching for new emotions, to mums and dads with their children. Those who go up to Mount Baldo ready to descend on a mountainbike get rewarded with a unique experience, not only for the singular views but also for the emotion to feel free in nature on a bike saddle, pedalling surrounded by perfumed flowers and green woodland, looking at the lake’s blue and at snowy white peaks on the horizon.

PARAGLIDING:

Another sport that considers Mount Baldo and Lake Garda a paradise for its addicts is certainly paragliding. Thanks to thermals it is possible to rise up to 3000 meters after the take-off, and then reach the landing at Malcesine after a series of glidings and spiral divings. Not only the addicts of Malcesine fly here, but also many tourists and addicts from all over the world who come to visit Mount Baldo in order to benefit from the perfect flying conditions. Tourists without permission come and refer to the various associations of Malcesine to experience a tandem flight with an approved pilot in complete safety, plunging into the unique panorama offered by Mount Baldo.
